The �鶹���� will debut “The Green Child Story: A Walk-Through Artbook for the Child Within” by Maine artist Wendy Newbold Patterson at the Campus Center in Biddeford from Oct. 29 through Dec. 10. 

The exhibit presents a mythopoeic exploration of climate distress, blending art, poetry, and myth to inspire viewers toward a deeper connection with the natural world. It aims to engage students, faculty, and the public while spanning multiple disciplines, including health, environmental studies, child education, and the arts.

Newbold Patterson describes her work as deeply personal and issue-driven, explaining: “Some of my art has a voice that may not always be commercial. I work in a series format around issues that move and compel me to express through art.”

“The Green Child Story” makes its debut at �鶹����’s Campus Center. Viewers will travel through doors and out of boxes on what Newbold Patterson describes as “a playful odyssey” to explore nature, time, and place, offering “a healing path for our relationship with Earth through our own attentive senses,” she said. 

In addition to the exhibit, Newbold Patterson will host an artist talk on Monday, Nov. 11, at 2 p.m. in the Campus Center, offering insight into her artistic process and the themes behind “The Green Child Story.” She welcomes engagement from students and faculty around the topics of climate distress and innovative approaches to increase public awareness of climate change.

A Maine-based artist, Newbold Patterson has exhibited her work throughout the state, including previous �鶹���� exhibitions of “The Survivors’ Suite” and “The Twenty,” which explored themes of migration and gun violence. For more information about her work, visit .

The Campus Center, located at 11 Hills Beach, Biddeford, is open Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 11 p.m., and on Saturdays and Sundays from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
