Nautical works by Mimi Gregoire Carpenter now on display at ΒιΆΉΒγΑΔ Campus Center

A series of 20 works by Maine artist Mimi Gregoire Carpenter is on display at the ΒιΆΉΒγΑΔ Campus Center in Biddeford now through April 3.
Inspired by the ocean and its ecosystems, the series, βWhat the Sea Left Behind,β depicts marine life including seaweed, razor clam shells, barnacles, crab and lobster carapaces, horseshoe crabs, and other creatures. Carpenter works primarily in pen and ink and opaque watercolor, and she often continues the drawings onto the white mat framing of her pieces.
An avid painter of many years, Carpenter has published several books she has authored and illustrated, including, βWhat the Sea Left Behind,β βMermaid in a Tidal Pool,β βOf Lucky Pebbles and Mermaidβs Tears,β and βHenry the Harbor Seal.β
Carpenter has a studio and gallery at 885 Pool Street in Biddeford.
