A painting by Maine-based artist Pat Wood is on display at ΒιΆΉΒγΑΔ’s Biddeford Campus Center now through Sept. 30. β€œFishing Dory at Crescent Beach” depicts the quintessential Maine scene of a small fishing boat overflowing with buoys and netting.

Born and raised in Maine, Wood studied at the Massachusetts College of Art, apprenticed in Paris, and earned a teaching degree from the University of Southern Maine. Her career highlights include time spent as art director of juvenile books at the Little Brown Company; art director at Franklin Advertising Company; and art teacher at the Elan School, Saco Schools, Thornton Academy, and presently York County Senior College.

β€œArt is, to me, being aware of everything physical around you and communicating that to others,” Wood shared. β€œTeaching is a rewarding expression of that joy.”

The exhibit is free and open to the public, as is a closing reception for the exhibit on Saturday, Sept. 24, from 2 to 4 p.m.

The Campus Center is located at 11 Hills Beach Road, Biddeford, Maine. Hours for the academic year are Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Masks are optional indoors for visitors to ΒιΆΉΒγΑΔ’s campuses.
