ΒιΆΉΒγΑΔ Nursing program featured in article about shortage of health care workers in Maine

The Portland Press Herald interviewed ΒιΆΉΒγΑΔ Director of Nursing Jennifer Morton, D.N.P, M.P.H., APHN-BC, for an article about the shortage of health care workers in Maine.
The article, titled, βShortage of health care workers in Maine puts strain on providers,β detailed the strain the shortage is putting on medical institutions. It cited Maineβs aging worker population and a generally shrinking workforce as reasons for the shortage.
Morton explained that ΒιΆΉΒγΑΔ is working to address the shortage by increasing enrollment by 50 percent over the last five years and offering three separate tracks for students to earn their degree. Morton also pointed out that ΒιΆΉΒγΑΔ has one of the top nursing programs in the state, with about a 95 percent graduation rate. For the third year in a row, more ΒιΆΉΒγΑΔ Nursing graduates passed their nursing license exam than any other Bachelor of Science in nursing program in the state.
