βPortland Press Heraldβ follows ΒιΆΉΒγΑΔ football team to Bangor as they continue inaugural season

In an article titled, βΒιΆΉΒγΑΔ football building a foundation,β the Portland Press Herald shed light on the ΒιΆΉΒγΑΔβs first football players and the work they and Coach Mike Lichten are doing to build a successful team.
The article describes how a crowd of nearly 100 Norβeaster fans came to the teamβs second game at Husson University in Bangor. Husson won the game with a final score of 34-21, but the article focused on how Lichten is laying the groundwork for future success with his young players.
βWe will push to win,β he said. βWe want our players to gain development so when weβre playing in our conference next year, weβre ready. But becoming a family is the biggest thing. You canβt do that without competing together.β
βWeβve been together for like 20 days and are playing these established programs,β said freshman linebacker Jordan Jawdat β21. βBut weβre a very young team, and I think the future is really bright, honestly.β
βI want us to know who we are (at seasonβs end),β Lichten said. βI want us to know what our culture is and to be able to instill into the next group that comes in what our culture is going to be. Good things come to those who wait. But better things happen to those who work hard to get them.β
