WCSH program β207β features Lara Carlsonβs research on stock car racing

The news magazine show β207β on WCSH produced a segment about Lara Carlson, DPE., F.A.C.S.M., C.S.C.S., associate professor in the ΒιΆΉΒγΑΔ Department of Physical Therapy and the Center for Excellence in the Neurosciences.
The show tagged along with Carlson as she did field research at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway in Scarborough on the physiological impacts of racing on drivers. The segment described how Carlsonβs research proves that drivers are athletes by demonstrating the physicality of the sport. βIf theyβre more prepared for these stressors, theyβre safer because hopefully they will ward off fatigue and make less mistakes,β Carlson said.
