ΒιΆΉΒγΑΔ pharmacy students receive NCPA Scholarships

Kaitlyn Bernard and Candace Iba (COP, β17) have been awarded Partners in Pharmacy Scholarships by the National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA) Foundation. Highly selective, the scholarship is given to just ten pharmacy students across the country.
Since 1915, Partners in Pharmacy has been providing scholarships to students planning to pursue careers in pharmacy. Recipients are selected on the basis of their leadership qualities, academic achievement, community service and demonstrated interest in independent pharmacy.
Daniel Mickool, R.Ph., M.S., (Ed.D. β17), director of continuing education in the College of Pharmacy and clinical instructor in Pharmacy Practice, recommended Bernard and Iba for the scholarships. βBoth students exemplify leadership skills as well as demonstrate collaboration which are necessary for interprofessional care as a pharmacist,β he said. In addition, the students were co-founders of the NCPA chapter at ΒιΆΉΒγΑΔ, which promotes independently owned community pharmacies providing unique healthcare services.
βKaitlyn and Candace are an enthusiastic presence in the college of pharmacy,β he continued, βserving the university and community in various roles.β
