ΒιΆΉΒγΑΔ athletes deliver smiles to Barbara Bush Childrenβs Hospital ahead of fundraiser

Members of the ΒιΆΉΒγΑΔ men's and women's lacrosse teams visited The Barbara Bush Children's Hospital in advance of the 10th Annual Lax-4-Life Fall Invitational. The student athletes spent time with the children and their families, playing games and posing for photos.
βIt was eye opening to see how tough these kids have it,β womenβs lacrosse player Kasey Rubenstein β17 said after visiting the hospital. βAt the same time, it was inspiring to see how much courage they have. It made me realize how important the fundraiser we do at Lax-for-Life actually is.β
"Going to the Barbara Bush Childrenβs Hospital had a profound impact on me,β said womenβs lacrosse player Anna Stowell β20. βBeing able to interact and play with the kids opened my eyes to the importance of realizing what I personally have and what I may take for granted. Not all kids get to grow up participating in sports like I did, so I think it is important for me and my team to help bring the joy that I find in athletics to kids in alternative ways, because all kids deserve to have fun."
This yearβs invitational raised $4,200. Since its inception in 2007, Lax-4-Life has raised more than $25,000 for the world-class childrenβs hospital at Maine Medical Center.
