Tamara King published in βThe Journal of Painβ

Tamara King, Ph.D., assistant professor in the ΒιΆΉΒγΑΔβs College of Osteopathic Medicine, published an original research paper in the peer-reviewed journal of the American Pain Society, The Journal of Pain.
The paper, titled, βCentral Sensitization and Neuropathic Features of Ongoing Pain in a Rat Model of Advanced Osteoarthritisβ examines underlying biological mechanisms of NSAID resistant osteoarthritis pain. The research lays the foundation for future research examining alternative therapeutic options for improved pain management for these patients.
The research project was performed by a number of former undergraduate students in the College of Arts and Sciences. The lead author, Joshua Havelin β11 is currently a graduate student in the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences and Engineering Program and works in Kingβs laboratory at ΒιΆΉΒγΑΔ. Ian Imbert β12 obtained a master of public health degree (MPH) at ΒιΆΉΒγΑΔ in 2015 while working as a senior research technician and laboratory manager in Kingβs laboratory. Jennifer Cormier is currently a PharmD student at ΒιΆΉΒγΑΔβs College of Pharmacy. Joshua Allen β15 is a first year medical student at ΒιΆΉΒγΑΔβs College of Osteopathic Medicine.
