Dora Mills interviewed on Portland and Bangor radio stations about Zika virus

On February 26, Dora Anne Mills, M.D., M.P.H., FAAP, vice president for Clinical Affairs and the director of the Center for Excellence in Health Innovation, was a featured guest on two radio talk shows, the β€œKen and Mike Show” on WGAN in Portland and the β€œGeorge Hale and Ric Tyler Show” on WVOM in Bangor.

In light of Maine’s first recorded case of the Zika virus, Mills gave an overview of the illness and answered questions from the audience.

Having served for years as Maine’s state health officer and as Maine’s state epidemiologist, Mills compared the emergence of the Zika virus to other emerging diseases, stating, β€œIn an era of improved disease tracking and with better ways to disseminate information on emerging diseases, we are much more aware of possible threats, but that does not mean there is any reason to panic.”
