David Livingstone Smith, Ph.D., professor of philosophy, was quoted in an article titled β€œLos seres humanos mienten 1 o 2 veces al dΓ­a,” which translates to β€œHuman beings lie 1 or 2 times a day” in El Telegrafo.

The article explores the act of lying in both humans and other species and the purpose it serves. Smith explains that in the biological world plants and animals use falsehood and simulation to survive, but humans are better at lying because of their superior intelligence and ability to speak.
