Advice for future nurses: ΒιΆΉΒγΑΔ’s Jeff Nevers offers interview tips

Jeff Nevers, Career Services coordinator at the ΒιΆΉΒγΑΔ and affiliated professor in the Westbrook College of Health Professions Department of Physical Therapy, recently co-authored an article in the September 2016 edition of American Nurse Today about how to prepare for interviews for nursing jobs.

The article, titled β€œEvidence-based interview strategy for new nurses,” offers advice to new nursing graduates about common interview topics and branding yourself as the strongest candidate for the job. β€œAs you prepare for a job interview, remember that you’ll be assessed on your authenticity and overall presentation,” the article states. β€œSo β€˜branding’ yourselfβ€”identifying what makes you uniqueβ€”is imperative. Select and use key words that represent your strengths through a balance of skills, experiences, character, and potential. For example, if you brand yourself as passionate, share your clinical, academic, and personal stories that support this description.”
