ΒιΆΉΒγΑΔ SNAP-Ed team conducts training for state-wide SNAP-Ed program staff

ΒιΆΉΒγΑΔ’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Education (SNAP-Ed) team conducted a two-day training at the Sugarloaf Hotel and Conference Center in Carrabassett Valley on September 16 and 17, 2014. 

The purpose the event was to provide Nutrition Educators with the tools and skills necessary to efficiently implement the Maine SNAP-Ed work plans for the 2015 fiscal year. Attendees included 41 Maine SNAP-Ed Nutrition Educators, 14 Healthy Maine Partnership directors, and a host of guest presenters including Altarum, RTI, Ethos Marketing, Share Our Strength’s Cooking Matters Program, and the Food Bank for New York City.  

Presentations by ΒιΆΉΒγΑΔ faculty and staff included:

Β·         Michele Polacsek, Ph.D., M.H.S., associate professor of Public Health, presented β€œThe Ecological Model and Policy, Systems, and Environmental (PSE) Change: Public Health Approaches for Improving Physical Activity and Nutrition through SNAP-Ed”.

Β·         Anne-Marie Davee, M.S., R.D., L.D., senior nutrition program coordinator, and Leslie Ouellette, M.S., R.D., L.D., nutrition program coordinator, presented β€œClassroom Management Techniques” and β€œFY 2015 Curriculum Updates”.

Β·         Joan Ingram, M.P.H., Leslie Ouellette, M.S., R.D., L.D., and Rob O’Neil Vadakin, M.B.A., presented β€œReporting in FY 2015: Review of New Workplans and Reporting Procedures”

Β·         Kim Bowie presented β€œFinancial Procedures and Protocols for FY 2015”
