Allison Chepke finishes practicum experience at the American Cancer Society

Allison Chepke, a student working towards her master’s in public health in the College of Graduate Studies, recently completed a practicum with the American Cancer Society (ACS).

Chepke based her capstone project on her experiences at ACS.  She noted: β€œMy capstone project helped me research cancer preventive care measures and how they are being impacted by new health care systems such as the health care reform, accountable care organizations, medical homes, and the Affordable Care Act.”

As part of her practicum experience, Chepke attended trainings such as β€œHealth Care Systems” and β€œAdvocacy and Leadership.”

β€œThe knowledge and motivation from this experience has been significant,” said Chepke.
